Forgotten joy
You lie alone at night And cry yourself to sleep In a lonely bed Silently you weep Nobody's there to hold you To comfort all your fears Your screams are all forgotten Nobody dries your tears Your mother deserted you A very long time ago Your father has forgotten Did he even know This nightmare is too real This self-inflicted pain If only life were simple You long to breathe again What happened to the friendships Made along the way have you been forgotten Or do they think of you today No one understands you To them you just aren't real The pain that cuts into your heart They simply cannot feel Doesn't anybody care Even God's forgotten Is this pain a punishment Or is your heart just rotten When the tears ran down your face You finally gave up hope You have nothing left to cling to No longer can you cope With every beginning There must be an end Is there any happiness Around the next bend If that bend ever comes It will be too late For that forgotten joy You simply couldn't wait
