03.07.09 I can’t seem to free myself of your chains. I try, but it seems as if everything I do is in vain As hard as it is to get along with you Somehow it’s even harder to let go of you You keep dear to my heart Which holds my soul hostage so that it will never part I’m lost in a world unknown Trapped in that section where it’s hardly broken, just slightly torn I want to fully let go of you like you’ve begun to let go of me But it seems this capture will last for eternity You don’t love me anymore Still, I cant find the strength to walk out the door On my knees, begging for your mercy You seem to be amazed by my plea for pity But in all honesty I’d probably rather have my soul set on fire Than to be treated so cruelly by someone I once desired And if you had any love for me, even an ounce You’d let me go, and declare this love denounced
