Friends
We met through friends at a ceremony and soon were engaged in conversation that went on in an air of harmony scented, on my side, with adoration. Her presence was comforting and charming, while words flowed between us sweet as honey. Later, I danced with her entranced, weaving in my mind, a future bright and sunny. Time for dinner, we mingled with the rest but I still was lost in thoughts about her and had no interest in other guests. Did she love me? My mind was in a blur. My love for her was undoubted and strong; it left me in a daze that lasted long.
