Frozen Love

I look deep into your eyes saddened by the way they look back at me I remember the days when they sparkled at my very touch, and lit up to the sound of my voice You told me the thought of me brought tears of joy to your eyes That the love you had for me emitted like rays of sunlight from inside of you But now I see dark skies as if a devastating rainstorm is on the horizon I’m deeply agitated as I ponder what it was that took your brilliance from you Gripped by fear at the thought of inquiring about your distance from me Afraid because I know. I know why your mind wonders when I am near I refuse to believe the obvious, wanting to hold onto you at all costs But a person knows when the love they are giving is no longer welcomed Into your arms I have ran so many times for comfort and love Its now foreign territory to me, I feel like an alien in your arms You have created a valley between us I am ready to climb up and down this mountain to get to you But you have already started walking in the opposite direction Away from me and the life we had together Our love, Our bond you have forsaken Your love for me is frozen
