Fugitive

I come from a land Where a tribe was born to refute itself A place where competition arose amongst us To make us march against one another Instead of raising spears and going to war For war defined our strength and worth But we have been given stainless steel To produce bronze out of rounded holes And destroy each other chemically I fear not war, it is only that I fight not cowards, so I fled to this land, and Became a fugitive... ***************************** I came to this land Where it seems the war begins in my mind A contrast arose as I tried mentally To distinguish between the people and the government Then I was told the people are the government And yet the people are not consulted Instead the people in vein power Decide for the nation who to side with Where to stand, how to stand So the people stand alone They stand against what they call the government Demanding what they call theirs But still no progress in their effort, so I will flee from this confusion, and Become fugitive to my SOUL... *********************************** I will come to that land Where it seems life is bliss And try in my SOUL hard To find a woman from a man Surprise myself for differences there is none I am confronted with pathetic rights, We have forgotten, and it's disgusting, That we are still African Because they came and told us that woman equals man An undefined answer emerged From this non-realistic equation Children are born disrespectful Ethically rooted to no-one knows what Women trying hard to be men Men loosing their rightful place, so I will flee that land, and Become fugitive to my HEART... ******************************** I will be to every land Where peace I will try to find Use my HEART to seek Righteousness inside every nation Fail in all my attempts To enlighten my people For they remain in open-eyed-darkness With their minds closed shut, so I shall keep running, running Until there is no place left To become fugitive to, and I will become fugitive to MYSELF Amen
