shadows move across my bedroom walls gathering spirits wood creaks with the weight of their souls whispers and cold breath across my shoulders as I partially awaken we are so close so close to breaking the line between us in the twilight of my years I discover that the line is thin the shadows are not from moonlight playing with the dark and the whispers are not the imaginings of a fool I do not fear this intimate quest to cross that line and share the warmth of my living heart come closer I am your friend
