Gone From Pain

My eyes squint tight against the glow Of freedom newly found Shackles broken and cast away To lay forever on the ground This cage holds nothing, the bars are bent Chains rest on the dusty floor For they will never hold me again I don't believe in them anymore I pick up speed as the past fades away My future is rushing on I run towards it, faster still Away from all that was wrong Like a wide open canvas laid out before me Blank and innocent of ink I move onward to the future ahead Gone from the pain in a blink

I love all kinds of art, I write music as well as poetry and have been playing guitar for many years, with bass as a secondary instrument. If you happen to have stumbled on this profile, hopefully you enjoy my writings!
