Do you know what it is like To live with someone who has lost their mind? To know all the signs of a breakdown And have an emergency plan if it happens? Have you ever been afraid to ask a question For fear of a total meltdown? Have you ever been able to see the tinge of insanity In the very words they have written? Have you ever feared for the safety Of the children in the next room? Have you ever been paralyzed, With your hand on the door, For fear of finding your father Hanging from the ceiling fan, Or laying in a bathtub full of his own blood, Or sprawled out on his blood-covered sheets, With half of his skull splattered on the wall behind him? No? You haven't? Oh. Good for you.
