Goodbye
You made the winter day seem so bright, With all your brave and might! The wee smile on your face, Never looked out of place. Your body was failing, As the heavens were calling. You had some fight, With the end in sight. When you asked ‘give us a cuddle?’ It got us in a muddle. Would it be our last? We could not let it pass. Will you cry? When you say goodbye. Or hold your head high, And say goodbye with a sigh? The sun was out, But only darkness was about, The day you said goodbye. But I did not cry. I hear your voice, Well I have no choice, As I place you in my head, And lay you to your final bed.

I used to write a lot of poetry when I was at school, I found it a great way of expressing myself. But I lost the 'notion' for many a year. I think it is now time a tried again!
