Goodbye

One night we looked at the moon You whispered in my ear You said If I ever needed you That you would be right here You whisked me off my feet And flew into the sky Now you've dropped me And all i can say is Why? You held my hand, Then let it go You walked away I said "Don't Go" You didn't turn back Just called out "Goodbye" I said "Don't leave" And I started to cry I pleaded for you not to leave To come stay by my side To hold my hand again And take back that Goodbye But it was too late For you were already gone I told myself you'd come back That you wouldn't be gone long I closed my eyes and held my breath But you were gone and my heart was dead I can't let go of the memories we shared Can't let them float away, Like dust in the air You broke my heart and left the pieces You threw my heart to the floor Even though you're done with me I still yearn for more One night as I sat and looked at the moon I whispered a thought to the sky, "I wish I never gave him my heart, He's the hardest Goodbye."
