Graceful Killer - For Jo
His feathers ruffle in the breeze As summer thermals flow Hovering above the trees He scans the ground below His eyes are keen to spot his prey His talons sharp and strong A mistral wind born of this day Helps to carry him along Smoothly circling through the air Aware of each small sound He swoops on creatures unaware To pluck them from the ground And in the leafy woodland glade The nightingales may sing But they must surely be aware That the eagle owl is king
