GRASS (Translation)
JIBANANADA DASHER KABITA GRASS (TRANSLATION) Like the grass, leaves of lemon trees glistening In the morning sun, The earth is filled with this quiet olive light; Like the naive lemons, green smelling grasses Are being cut by the tender teeth of the deer ; I also cherish to have this smell of grass And drink them glass after glass like yellow drink. I wish to taste the body of such meadow Bruise my eyes with theirs, I wish my wings are made of such fluff of grass And to have my next birth in a grass-family, Coming out slowly through the umbilical cord of a Loving grassy mother’s aromatic, tasty bodily darkness.
