Green Fields

The girl was 4 or 5 her father was alive it ate him up inside His feelings were his pride He ripped the dolls insides and knelt down as she cried she knew she could not hide the door was locked inside The bathroom door ajar it looked so near yet far He put her in the car he said it wasn't far They drove her far away and in green fields she'd play imagining the day when love would come to stay.
