Halloween
Halloween A night to hide away Or be seen Once the leaves have turned brown we can be who we please It's our chance to dress as our favourite hero Or be the monster that scares us most We can be gluttonous and eat candy by the kilo Then let our inner demons out to play Don’t worry kids, Santa’s not watching tonight Lets swap out those perfect ponytails and ties For unruly curls and capes Fill your red cups and devour pumpkin pies This is the night to purge all unchristian desires Let them eat cake! Listen to the candy apples crunch And eggs break As we turn our once peaceful streets into the devil’s playground If you’re tired of playing fair Tonight is your night Be wild with flair Let out what has been building all year And once November comes We will be all tuckered out Unsavoury desires purged, nothing left but crumbs Christmas is coming and we will be sweet children once more

Hi! I'm an amateur at writing poetry and a huge fan of reading it! I'm grateful for tips on how to improve as it's a hobby of mine, and I'd love to improve my skills. I have plenty of ideas, but I struggle with formatting and pace.
