Happenstance - Rondeau
This is a 'rondeau'style poem, a frenchformthat's great to work with - the beauy ofbeing that you can use it for all content: angry, funny, sad. You stole my heart that afternoon Though you were unaware, Of unreigned will and glare, Nor sobbing souls or rising swoon, You stole my heart that afternoon Though you were unaware. Bechance I caught a glimpse of you Could do no more than stare, So golden, glistened, fair And haloed beauty shone in view, Bechance I caught a glimpse of you Could do no more than stare. Your fatal eyes arose in gloom And locked themselves in mine, Two souls once intertwine, Betwixt and between bloom, Your fatal eyes arose in gloom And locked themselves in mine.
