HE MAKES ME SHINE * I know a man who makes me shine. shine like crossed spotlights against a dark night sky * Makes me feel good when I'm feeling bad. Will make me laugh If I'msad and depressed * Would never leave me for somebody else thinks of me always before he would himself * reads my poetry, though he'd rather watch television as every time he reads it he think's it's about him * Asks all kinds of question when I write of past lovers That's when I will tell him that, I've made it all up. * He'll cook me something if I mention I'm hungry Will love me all up if I'm feeling needy. * Gives me more money at a moment's notice and doesn't complain about why I am short of it * When I ask him nicely "Baby, does my butt look big?" he refuses to answer citing spousal priviledge * He watches me closely when I drink too much If I drink the whole bottle that's when he gets tough * Won't take any shit from what I dish out if he thinks that I'm wrong he will call me on it! * Gives me the courage when faced with adversity If I can't go on he inspires tenacity * When my hair is messy He tells me it's not and, even when I'm naked he tells me I look hot * Tells me I can, when I think I can't gives me advice advice I don't want * Not one part of me will he leave denied, If I'm anything good it's cause he makes me shine * WordPlaya, April, 2009
