Hello: A Poem of Sadness
Hello: A Poem of Sadness A cold hand placed upon this chest, Flake by flake she accumulates long, dark hair resting upon a hardened pillow Wintry breath drawn she made her way down the dark corridor holding a light, and led by the dry gulp that answered the ringing bell. Stopping outside the shut chamber where a solitary drummer’s arms had grown tired, There she slipped inside (a bewildered curse), undressed the eyes one thread of salt at a time with wine drunk off a tongue and stood naked. Pupils groped the walls, floor, a chair, straining for the exit but her breasts made for better handholds. Circles, paced round and round brought no end, how it was wished that she would stay (thumbs nuzzling hardened nipples) “Hello” dragged on becoming a reminder that this was just the low point, as the floor where she would complete seduction. “Just stay”, so that coming and going will be a thing of the past which brought her here. Then I smile, and the feeling’s gone because sadness is a choice I’m not committed to.
