His Regrets

20 Sep 2008

He lays his head on concrete floor Not a pillow in his sight Intoxicated, prepared for another Unpredictable cold night He dreams of satin sheets Rose petals scattered on the bed King size luxury Where he can rest his head He regrets the choices he made The life he gave himself The intelligence he was blessed with Could have bought him wealth His only friend in life Is the dog that sleeps by his side But he took his final breath last night His only friend has died He will walk alone from this day on Spending cold nights in dread Shedding tears about the path he chose Wishing he took a better one instead
