Hollow Claw

I stare at it Its soothing vibration puts me in a state of melancholy I close my eyes for sleep But fascination pries them open My eyes fixate themselves on it again I reach for it The feeling it gives me is indescribable I clutch it flush to my breast Each time my chest fills with air, a new wave passes through my body Putting me in a semi-astral projective state I can’t wait to feed my eyes the beautiful sight of it once more Before, I was empty and weak Now I don’t feel like a freak It speaks to me It tells me to be strong It comforts me It tells me this won’t be long It wards away the beasts And when I’m afflicted with hunger It brings me feast It defeats the evils and heartache As I lie awake, it shakes every bad notion Like buildings in an earthquake When I break, it holds me down When I scream, it blocks the sound When I hate, it helps me love When I fall, it makes me rise above It’s mine It’s hollow like me Each time it sets me free I feel like a new being It’s agreeing with me that I need to purge myself and get away This place reeks of death With every breath, I’m closer to it The stagnant fragrance overflows and grows stronger The longer I wait for it, the harder it is to go on I grit my teeth in its absence Realizing that its absence is really the void inside me Begging for its return I’ve earned it When it finally returns, it blankets me It gives me warmth I feel complete again The shaking stops and I begin to see straight It gives me everything I lack thereof It makes me everything I’m not I can spot it when it’s far I can spot it when it’s nigh But I’m lost without it I’m nothing without it I need it It’s mine Once again, I clutch it flush to my breast My chest is fluttering in utter excitement I feel complete again and I will never lose this feeling It will always be with me as long as I’m with it It leads me And I will always follow raw For it is my companion It's my hollow claw
