Hominid Geology
HOMINID GEOLOGY So easily may it be deduced, I am a creature of blight. There is nothing left that can be reduced, To make me a more sickly sight. Snow swept from the crest by cruel years, Revealing mottled terrain. The sight of deep crevasses interferes, With respect for my learned brain. Down the slopes I see the surface sag, Drawn low by my loss within. I search the rise on which I would once brag, And describe in full with a grin. The spring once felt in my lower heights, Has long been replaced by cold. They no longer propel me to delights, Or have use in a lovers hold. The foothills too prove to be dotted, With various brown and tan. All signs that prove once they be spotted, As man alters mountain, time alters man.
