Hopeless Romantic

·Boffin

Smoke rolling from the chimney As day dived under the horizon Through the window its dim light would flow And over the stone floor it would caress the shadows Pouring wind over the glass cabinets The room overflowing with sweet smells of chocolate Awaiting for a problem to arise to take her evening fixture Dozens of unexcused heart shaped boxes litter the table While reading glasses rest on another page of romance Book-marked at the page where tears kissed them Cigerette laying head first in a bowl of problems Ice-cream in a bowl melted to a pool of milk A cold mug kissed with lipstick A candle creating dancing shadows Her anxiety escaping through her eyes Black rivers line her cheeks Sitting at her coffee stained table In one hand a bottle of rum and the other holding her tattered life Among broken pieces of glass was her will to live Picking her shadow clean off the ground and consuming it Taking in every bit of darkness she could afford Life only nudging her along this distructive path While tears spill into her broken palms As her faithful husband comes home from work.
