Hourglass

Shadows hiding from my past Moving slowly, moving fast Seconds ticking, flying by Smiles vanish as days turn dry Every moment lasts too long Playing out like one bad song Still creeping through this life of mine Just trying to hold onto time With laughter breaking down the doors Moments when I forgot the scores Then suddenly, truth rushes back Pain shoots through me, heart attack Nothing left, no hourglass No sand grains, they couldn't last All I have is this nightmare The past and present haunt me there Now I'm tumbling, been here before Broken, beaten, dying once more
