How could a Dad Betray?

How Could a Dad Betray? His words were darts of anger They punctured heart and mind Numbing all her senses When imploded she was blind. She couldn’t see the words That she should surely say Her thoughts had taken injury And they had gone away. Her heart was a balloon Filled to the brink with pain It must have been the only sense, Which with her did remain. So numbed she was sedated She began to melt away With water leaking from her eyes How could a Dad betray?. IlaMae Stucki © 5/4/10 Note. Picking up some vibes on living with an alcoholic father in the 1950’s at around the age of 8-10.

I am a Registered Nurse.. I have loved writing for as far back as I can remember. My first writing was experienced by drawing as a child. In 7th grade I wrote a poem about Abraham Lincoln that won an award and was read on the radio in Salt Lake City....
