How Fragile We Are

18 Dec 2005

·Sleight

Put your fingers too your wrist and feel your pulse. Run around a bit and put your hand to your heart. Suck in deep breath after deep breath. We are such fragile machines. What if your heart just stopped? Blood slowing through your veins. Pain throbbing from every nerve. Imagine the fear, the panic, the euphoria and then the end. Would it be an endless night? Could it be endless light? Would it be nothing, nothing at all? I like to think you wake, as if from a dream. A dream you remember for a moment. But fades in the light of day.
