I am a River
I am a river. I am blessed full waters in the spring flowers on my banks grow vivid my heart blooms beneath my waters are stones lying within me with ridges to be tamed they are my rock they are my step into the ocean where I’ll ultimately BE my rocks keep me tame keep me grounded keep me sane I am a river you indulge in my beauty – when I am full to your liking winters they may come droughts they may happen waters reduce my rocks reveal I’ll still be beautiful you may mar my clarity I’ll still be here you may dam my waters I ‘ll be still-- but still beautiful I am a river I am blessed even with no water for with no waters, I still possess these stones love me as a river dry, still or candy to your eye I am still a river beautiful -- the way I am.
