I Am Ready Oh Lord

*Dedicated to my Grandmother, written by her bedside moments before her death. It was such an honour to be next to her in her final moments.* I am ready Oh Lord To march unto the gates of yonder To shut them closed To be at peace, to let go I am ready Oh Lord For that thrilling second, Whence You I shall meet, face-to-face Filled with Holy Grace I am ready Oh Lord For my organs to give in, For blood to stop pumpin' For freedom to find me, And leave in peace I am ready Oh Lord To walk upon waters, To feel unending bliss, To be outside of the physical To hand my soul to You, Taken to another view I am ready Oh Lord Like You've prepared me to be, So I can release myself So I can feel pain no more And live forever again, Rejoicing in Your name I am ready Oh Lord As slowly I let go, As sweetly I fall into Heaven, As You control my body, And heal'th my soul, Slowly I let go I am ready Oh Lord And still I will be As in this moment I fade, And give'th myself to Thee, Living forever, feeling free I am ready Oh Lord Take'th thou me. *I haven't been able to write poetry since her passing a year ago, but when i returned to this website this past month it gave me inspiration and motivation to return to poetry. Thanks guys!!!*
