I’D LIKE TO TAKE YOU… I’d like to take you far, to Seattle where I’d be found in bookstores and I’d mingle with other bohemian poets joining workshops attending open mikes and we’d live in a nice apartment full of plants with pictures on the walls of seascapes, eagles in flight… Or maybe Minnesota, where its said jobs are plentiful, I’d do the same as in Seattle and even bear the cold. I’d truly feel I’d be enchanted with the land of Enhancement where I’d search for other Jimmy Santiago Baca fans- we’d discuss his books, our own poetry and I’d finally go to the festival in Taos. But, La Migra has us stuck here in Piedras patience grinding away… * Piedras- Piedras Negras a border town adjacent to Eagle Pass, Texas * La Migra- Immigration and/or Border Patrol
