I’d rather be a second-class version of myself That a first class of someone else I’d rather be true to me Than to be an imitation of another human being I’d rather be wrong for the right reasons Than be right for the wrong reasons I’d rather have loved and lost Than to have loved (love!!) a loser I’d rather win nothing Than to lose everything I’d rather die trying Than trying to die I’d rather be a man of value Than a man of success Do something that will help you Than look down on you like a pest
