I Feel the Music

I feel the music. Only I can feel the music. I can feel its value. I can feel the artist standing alongside me, as I float on his voice. I know what she meant by that word, by that rhythm. He is talking to me, speaking, on a fantastic level. It's fantastic. I am there. It all surrounds me. That's how it feels. The jazz. The rock. That reggae. That last, last strum of his double bass. That is what I want. It is a lullaby. I want it to hold me, rock me to sleep. I want to touch it, grasp it in my hand, press it close to my chest, close my eyes, and dream of a dream.

I write poems every now and then, when the weight of my own thoughts gets too heavy for my mind.
