I Gave You My Heart I gave you my heart Carelessly - I forgot to withhold You carried it away as it beat so hard Longed for so much Loved so deeply As you scarred it irreparably Every dent to my person Carved into my soul Your scent hypnotic Your taste divine As addiction flowed through my veins You watched me self destruct I gave you my heart I thought I had yours I cared and caressed Cushioned and protected I'd have given you my life Without thought or caution to the wind But your heart was never mine You never felt my pain Shot daggers through my solar plexus You stuck the knife in my back Whilst rejoicing in your glorified manhood The pain was my own, from my heart not yours You beat me down,still I can't get up Weighed down by your insecurities You swamped me with your anger Still stricken by your injustices As you fly now free of your burdens I'm still lost and dying inside I gave you my heart But now I want it back It beat only for you Cannibalistically devoured As your cruel disregard sliced through my soul And now that your gone My heart isn't beating at all.
