I let loose the need to know
And it is stuck there, this lump in my throat Ashes floating of a love cremated, You smile and in my pain you gloat I’m subdued with my soul sedated, Carols of hope no longer soar The heart sinking shy of the shore. I knew that love would change us forever This sordid tree that grew took root, I foolishly saw us staying together While you saw me under your boot, Now your bloodied victim is here The bleeding heart broken by fear. The angels flew to me too late Telling me to let you go, Growing love revealed as hate Through our veins did flow, But for me to say my last goodbye Simply meant I had to die.
