I’m alone at home! Part 1.

Inspired by Blank’s "That Strain of a Leak.." How nice to be at home Now that I am alone! I’ve already played with Tom And would keep unless he’d gone. All these cats are so strange, But we need them for a change. He looked pleased when I died him Red and orange, blue and green. I’m afraid he didn’t like Big black spots above his eyes As he suddenly began Hissing like a frying pan. Then I caught his fluffy tail, And, I think, it made him rail As his hiss turned into roars And I saw his sharp grey claws. He jumped up and tried to hit, ButI managed to retreat. I’d have failed to stop his rush If I hadn’t had that brush As the taste of my black paint Made Tom think he tried in vain. How proudly he turned Thinking that he’d made me learned! But I knew that he would fail, In one lunge I reached his tail. Two fast strikes meant one black spot. He rushed back but met the door. Three more colours I’d have put But was scared by his mood. Like a rainbow in clouds He could look, but he went out. And what’s now? Yes!!! Some ice Will make all extremely nice!…
