I'm Mellow

·Wakeupdead

I’m mellow Like a cucumber I’ll catch a scene and slice it clean Lean and green Organically serene Skiddy-oo be-bop-a-do Be-bop-a-do-de-da-la Be-bop-a-do Be-bop-a-do-de-la-la And if a tornado comes It won’t bother me none But pass me on by With its head in the sky Tra-la-la-di-da La-di-da Say hello to the cucumber storm Give a smile to the surrounding norm Threatening with bore to ruin your play But say ‘good day’ and walk away Roo-pa-do-pa-de Then the buzzing bee The yew tree The quarrelling squirrels With their red-grey war But wave a paw and say no more Skiddy-uden-duden Skiddy-uden-duden-duden-do Life is a game But playing is no fun As the harder you try, the harder the rules become Beep-a-deep-di-do Bi-do-di-do So to please oneself is the sole aim To block all pain And meet with endless gain And heavenly hedonism, all the way Zip-a-de-do-da Zip-a-de-day …

Wakeupdead

Lines come to me and I try to write poems based around them. They start out as simple observations then grow into something (hopefully) more powerful. Anyway, thanks for stopping by!
