I met you on your birthday
Muddy memories burned into my nervous mind You saw me yet it felt so fine A good 'ol wine n' dine goes so far Cook, swoon, light the fire And tell me how you'll never love a woman but you'll use her for her womb Now I fantasize: use me your hand over my mouth provided more "holding" than bitter sacrifice could ever scrounge Did it hurt me to think that you gave an animal my name I may never know the species, receive the compliment or shame Laying down your shirt for me and unflinchingly agreeing to bring me to the pharmacy were acts of love. Godliness What scarcity we live with in these times In a drought of giving I was not ready to receive
