Philosophical

I saw a man today 
who lived under a bridge 
walking downhill towards 
his destiny 
wearing a t-shirt 
and nothing more, 
the passing motorists 
craned their heads 
to catch a glimpse 
of his excitement. 
I saw a crowd of people today 
gathered over a corpse 
that lay 
spreadeagled 
on its back, 
tucked into the bushes 
a tortured soul departed 
as a matter of fact. 
I saw people today 
walking towards their destiny 
unsmiling frozen faces 
of the prisoners 
in their cages.
