I See The Stars

I watch the sun set in the sky again And hope for a little peace I want to forget, just for a little while I long for a release I want to forget all the sadness inside And leave my problems behind And not see my world crumbling around me Just like if I was blind The day's heat fades to the cool of night And the wind begins to blow No storm tonight, because I see the stars As the sun sets and loses glow I feel I may have a chance in life To do whatever it is I please Even though it's only temporary I wish this feeling would never leave I walk alone through the summer night All sadness inside me is gone I feel like I could jump and touch the sky I feel I could do no wrong The streets and sidewalks are empty tonight And the town is mine to roam For once, the sadness in me doesn't matter It doesn't matter that I'm alone The sun is done turning around the Earth And soon it will rise again Tomorrow, I'll feel sad again It seems that never ends But at least I could have peace tonight For once, I felt happiness For now, tomorrow is eons away And I couldn't possibly care less
