I tipped my hat and bowed
The night ended abruptly You were not very happy Hoping for the applause Instead there was disgust. Every night as you performed Hearts were transformed All feeling good after a song But something went wrong. No reaction from the crowd The silence was loud It made me feel so small Sadly, no hole to crawl. What could have gone wrong? The claps had been loud and strong After so many years in the scene Something shocking was happening. Reality suddenly sunk in my head My music and songs were dead There was a new group and crowd So I tipped my hat and bowed!
