I've got nothing To Hide
“I’ve got nothing To Hide” Wildflowers flow in her hair Leaning forward Her voice lowers whispering into nature’s backyard A pool of reflection Reflection of solitude and beauty He writes in his journal A song breaks through Flowing into the corridors of my mind Without a word spoken I close my eyes Watching the sun blanket your horizon Watching you wait upon another sunrise Smiling, I see you look within your own reflection With both hands, I see you holding onto my heart The more time I spend with you The more difficult it is, keeping my eyes From falling on you For a moment You were a blur Between my off beat slumber And the consciousness Of reality Showered and dressed I wait upon you like an exhibition A display of color, like I’ve never seen before Flowing like milk and honey I no longer feel like a stranger My thoughts are bound By the emotions of your own, Honored To have you hold me, in the palm of your hands Hidden, behind this journal I write in, Hidden behind the canvas of words I’ve got nothing to hide Words that escape this poet’s pen The harbor to my soul It’s not what I see with my eyes, It’s all what I feel with my soul, This poet, he feels with his heart, This poetess, he looks upon, She embraces what he shares, They love with their hands Embraced by words of love Painting a canvas of passion and desire Bridged over, unfolding within her soul Watching her read What his heart writes Enriching his soul The soul of a poet’s heart © Arthur Henn 2008
