I Was Looking For You

I saw you on a rainy street corner On the eastside of a city that used to be warmer You lay huddled by a wall The victim of a greater fall Me and you, we go back far I have been there from the start And I've sent letters and people But you turned them all away I even sent my brother but you ran And the city took him You have no idea how hard I have looked How long I have traveled, to see you You are my best friend And I don't want this city to be your end And I don't want this city to be your end
