I would, were I able.
I would, were I able, take any tears you may cry and make them my own, And I would cry rivers just to wash away any smear upon your happiness. For your smile has become the very sustenance of my soul, And the encompassing beauty therein enshrines the symbol of my idolatry. Know that my soul calls out your name with each resounding beat of my heart, And this unrelenting resonance is answered only by the love I see in your eyes. For it was a single gaze from those eyes that lit this inferno burning within me, A flame so warm and bright that stars would shy away with envious grief. And I would, were I able, use this light to banish any darkness from your world, Like the happiness you’ve brought me, its unyielding brilliance shall cast no shadow in which pain or fear may hide.
