in search of you

On a road leading into a wasteland You ask the questions I do not dare to answer Who are you when you have already lost yourself? Do you start at the beginning? Of a life filled with regrets For other peoples choices Affecting every step you have taken How do you find yourself? If you have been the by-product of Someone else’s imagination or lack of When all your variations are dependent Upon what they said it should be Who do you see when you look into yourself? When every loss defines you When all your tears are for The child you could have been The person you think you should have been When who you are is already you I don’t have your answers I looked into the eyes of the girl Looking back at me from the mirror She told me; I am already you With every bit of yesterday etched into my soul With all those people who Tried and failed to break you Try to make you A puppet in a box for their convenience I am you she says Unmistakably and irrevocably you Where do you think you will find me? In the wasteland of yesterday or the promise of tomorrow Where do you think I will be? Well I am here to tell you that I am here today I need you now I know that you are tired Bubbling over with pain and fear I know that it hurts to be you I can’t take that away Take your pain inside myself and watch you become A reflection of another you But then who will you be? God is in the pain and His will is perfect We are not consumed, we are solidified and strengthened By the fire that rages through our lives By the grace that saves us every time I wish you all the best in your endeavour And I hope that you find my friend soon I also hope you realise that That only One has the blueprint to you s the One who designed you
