In the Night
In the stillness of the night lit by a single lonely light I sit alone and through my mind a thousand images unwind. Fragmented thoughts and random words that I'm not sure I ever heard. Of Earth and sky and things unseen; what never was and might have been. I jot them down as they appear: a phrase of hope, a ray of fear. I let them come howe'er they may for I'll forget them come the day.
