In this box of crayons…
Everything’s in this box of crayons: Forests, oceans and canyons, Tigers, owls, salmons and bears, Curtains, fridges, sofas and chairs… Just imagine what you’ll draw, One line, two and then some more. It’s a lake, quite blue, with a yacht. Don’t forget the crew on board, Scarlet sails, and the wind must blow… What about the waves? Make them low. Well done! It’s time for a… pillow… Who said that? Too early! ‘Willow’, Better more than one, on the hill. At the bottom of it draw a mill, And several ancient carts. No progress, no petrol, no cars! All these stinking things are somewhere Behind the mountains over there… Everything’s in this magic big box: Cute Brother Rabbit laughing at Brother Fox, Winnie, that isn’t a girl but a bear (Winnie-the-Pooh), Piglet, Kanga and Hare… Hem… it’s from another fairy tale, No March, “How Hare lost his tail”. Though I like Carroll’s Alice too, I’m from Russia. Have you got my cue? Yes, that hare’s tail’s fluffy and long, And his ears are short, it isn’t wrong. He looks like a big dormouse, quite right. No-no. I didn’t deride. Nobody could draw him better. Well, it’s nice to add the Hatter, The March Hare and Alice too. Yes, It’s the Mad Tea-party with its mess… Open this box of crayons, Which are perfect companions.
