Inhuman Resources * People are not a commodity that can be used up and then discarded * Should it count as depreciation if they’re beyond all useful life? * Slavery is a booming business and the number of slaves is increasing * People get rich by using their slaves and when they get old they throw them away * Big profits and cheap lives, a form of slavery that’s most despised * But It’s much more acceptable now then the way it was before * It’s no longer about owning, it’s about controlling and they don’t even give you a cabin with food. * Cost cutting, budget saving, and taken to extremes, what was once morally incomprehensible has now become mainstream. * WordPlaya, July 2009 ******************************* None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe * In an economy motivated by private corporate profit, the human effects of production are secondary, and social concern is a luxury. —Howard Zinn
