Camera phone cinema: lights , action, upload Users and viewers multiply by the truckload Fake famous players, no tradition to uphold New media feeding with a frenzy ‘cause they struck gold A new week, a new face, book a new interview On the boob tube, cause youtube is already sick of you Becoming a meme, the new American dream Get your famous fifteen until you run out of steam Prolong the show a little longer with cheap tricks Autotuned, edited, covered and remixed Search engines workin’ overdrive like a V6 Say hello to the future, say goodbye to secrets Refresh for the update on all your friends' habits Select option “love-hate” for relationship status Tweet like a bird, scan for bugs like the rabbit Follow friends through the trends of new micro-blog traffic Lessons in expression we’re testin’ to keep us guessin' If it’s a blessin’ that’s refreshin’ or mess in the connection Pharmaceutical erections found in canned meat digestion Dash your messageboard confessions to the lord Blog up in heaven Burned eyes, turned tides, more cookies than girl guides A world wide buffet chopped up into a stir fry Ideas in pieces ‘cause there’s too many choices Of what to force feed us ‘cause there’s too many voices That scream “don’t delete us” but wonder what all the noise is Drown out any genius, making these arenas pointless The vultures are celebratin’ culture acceleration Carcasses of past paradigm’s prepare for desecration Binary receptacles designed for mental defecation Advertisers pick us from a line while buffering keeps us waitin’ Up and down the hallowed halls of Google they got us pacin’ Munchin’ on our crack berries even when we’re on vacation Digital addiction’s a sickness and there’s no escapin’ And the only detox option’s cultural separation So make for hills, a double rainbow will guide us Don’t take all the pills these physicians prescribe us To rape all our wills and let them get inside us So break through the millions of lies that leave us lifeless We’ll take back these pages that we used to write, ‘cause These faces they force us to wear don’t define us This fakeness we face every day grips our minds but They can’t make us forget what our original design was
