Into the Night 
My darling girl I loved you so, 
I wished we could be one 
But now my dream can never be 
for soon I will be gone 
My time on Earth has come to pass, 
as to eternity I go 
Perhaps with God in Heaven 
or Satan down below 
You cannot know the pain I felt 
as you went from my sight 
Swallowed by the darkness 
of a sultry city night 
It was then that I decided 
it’s time to say goodbye 
Please do not blame yourself, 
don’t stop to wonder why 
As I write these farewell words, 
with all my heart I pray 
That you will reach fulfillment, 
and never lose your way 
So from this Earth I now escape, 
my spirit will be free 
Then you can seek your destiny, 
nevermore to think of me
