Introduction to Death
Introduction to Death The ride seemed so much longer… Inside the car, there was despair . At eight years old she didn’t know, Of death; and how she could prepare. The wooden box stood open now , The interest drew her near... to peer, above the wooden boxes satin edge. ; Struck dumb…she could not speak, or hear. Her cousin's face was ashen; There he lay, as sculpted stone. Horror seized her little heart, so fast... This scene was one she’d never known. She moved numbly to the closest chair; and hazy memories, found her there… The family games, and childhood fun… The sadness was too much to bear. The strained silence of their sorrow; While sitting at thisgreiving place, Her broken heart was aching It was showing on her face. Now I sit with pen in hand. More knowledge I’ve been given. Even with the bullet holes, I know he went to Heaven. IlaMae Stucki © May 6 2011 (revised 9/15/11)

I am a Registered Nurse.. I have loved writing for as far back as I can remember. My first writing was experienced by drawing as a child. In 7th grade I wrote a poem about Abraham Lincoln that won an award and was read on the radio in Salt Lake City....
