It all hurts so much To look into your eyes But not see the love in them To see you smile But not see the warmth in it To look at your hands But not to feel them cupping my face To look at your arms But not to have them around me To look at your lips But not having them to kiss me To look at your shoulder And only wish I could lay my head To hear you say ‘good bye’ Yet not ‘Take care’ To hear you assuring me But not the way you used to say ‘It’s gonna be alright’ To cry -and not have you To brush my tears away To have you next to me But not have you close to me It all hurts so much To live only on memories
