It's Funny How...
It's funny how different things can seem when you stand and look from somewhere else. Like how white ice turns to black, And that the earth is round, not flat. When I gaze up at the sky half way across the world, it sparkles But to you it's only mid-day. It's funny how our perception of time changes depending on feelings; I'd fly across the pacific to see you But won't lift the phone to talk to a mate. I cancel my plans just in case you're free, And call saying, 'let's go out, it's a date'. It's funny how we all experience the same things but feel them so differently. When it rains, I go outside and get wet And my friend runs to cover her head. Or how she longs for more time And the thought of waiting fills me with dread. It's funny that we all live on a spinning rock Yet some choose to destroy it. Cut me open and we all bleed the same, I guess we're not so different in the end We spend a lifetime laughing to cover up the pain.
