It's Jingle Bells All Over Again

It's Jingle Bells All Over Again I'll tread along the road in pair, when the snow falls The shiver of cracking ice across driven roads, white trees outside our walls A transparent world in which none else seems to matter more than The fact that your hand is in mine 'Cause we’ll walk together in the snow, from moonlit crescent lights To candles aglow, what a sight Keeping us warm on the coldest night of the year Although when summer rolls around, I’ll let go, and we’ll sway in our own paths Knowing that one of us will never return again Ready to fall, the snow waits for our footsteps to mould into it a pattern A painting abstract, parallel, like Pandora and Janus around Saturn But next winter, yours will be the only ones that show. For mine is a route with no return, I leave for a reason An everlasting summer season And autumn leaves on the ground are as close as I get to our memories So at most, I can walk through puddles in the storm of muddy seas Yet somehow I know I’ll come back, by foot if I must And follow your footsteps along your boulevard, over the thin film of dust In the crystal white snow flakes, so that the next person passing by Can only guess that your hand was in mine.
